Low Fidelity as Simplicity

Low Fidelity thrives off a limited tool kit. Less fonts, smaller file sizes, a single pencil and some white paper, whatever is on hand. This simplicity is constraining but it is also liberating. The limitation of choice allows for a fuller exploration of the tools on hand. Limitations encourage creativity and novel problem solving. Embracing the simplicity of Low Fidelity opens doors, not closes them. Now Low Fidelity should not be confused with Minimalism. Where Minimalism strives for every stroke to excel, Low Fidelity allows for the simplicity to work in its own right and grow, whether that is something truly simple or something far more complex.

Low Fidelity as Complexity

In the spaces of friction, complexity arises. Changes to the composition, shifts in the plans, the little unexpected moments create knots in the line towards the end goal. Allowing Low Fidelity to do its thing creates complexities in the work that creates interest and novel experience. Moments for conversation and contemplation that hopes to engage the reader. It's worth taking advantage of these complexities that come out of this system of working and allow the end goal to be molded by it.
